Sunburn:
Avoid sunburn before your wedding. The sunlight in the tropics is much more intense than at colder latitudes. But, ladies, if you must bake yourselves, wear a bathing suit with a strap line the same as you'll wear for the ceremony.
The Bride:
Bring a photo of the hair-do you would like the beautician here to create for you. You can find photos in bridal magazines or hair stylist's books; have your regular beautician try them on you and take Polaroid photos of you, front, side and back. While you're at it, see how your planned make-up looks in a photograph. Face-covering make-up can photograph much lighter than the rest of your skin, giving the look of a mask.
Hawaii is famous for its red soil. If you wear white satin spiked heeled shoes, the probability of staining them is great. If you love spiked heels, consider shoes with plastic heels instead of cloth-covered ones. Shoes with wider heels keep you from "sinking" into the lawn or wear the white satin spikes and dye them black when you get home.
The Wedding:
Your fingers may swell in the tropical weather, making your ring difficult to put on. We suggest lubricating your ring finger with lotion or soap; we'll bring some if you don't.
